Not much more than someone who likes to program on occassion. I've been doing a various mix of things, such as
contributing to open-source software I use, and adding new features sometimes, or I'll work on something.
My latest interests have primarily been in assembling datasets and training machine learning models, for tasks
such as object detection, which I might end up using in the robotics team I'm currently one of the primary programmers of.
I've contributed to postmarketOS before - a Linux distribution with the goal of porting it to as many mobile devices
as possible, utilizing close-to-mainline Linux kernel builds wherever possible. I primarily ported a device
with a Qualcomm MSM8916 SoC to mainline Linux, having to write a device driver and a devicetree for said device.
I also have some moderate experience in Linux sysadmin, of which this site is built on top of (using nginx behind another nginx reverse proxy, for reasons). I'll experiment with load-balancing and failover sometime in the future, for
the sake of learning how such systems are architected in reality. (and maybe I'll rewrite the HTML to be slightly more advanced
than this.
